Overall, the programme is intended to cross knowledge and experiences, drawing attention to the inescapable need for integrated development.
The Heritage Education Programme “Heritage is Ours” is integrated into the Viseu Educa E-Cidadania projects. It is designed to be developed over four years in the first phase (2018-2022). Consisting of actions aimed at children and teenagers in the school, the program seeks to lead the younger ones to internalise the need for a critical and preventive attitude towards heritage.
From a perspective of knowledge and interest in heritage, aimed primarily at the youngest, it intends to involve schools and raise awareness of preventive conservation among families. In the 2018-2019 school year, the programme will be called O Património é Nosso. Pass the Word!
Aimed at ages 8 to 10, it seeks to design actions adapted to this specific audience, create the respective teaching material and prepare teachers and educators to monitor them. To this end, the following actions will be developed:
- Production of didactic materials.
- Development and monitoring of projects in the participating schools.
- Congress “Heritage Education and Communities: (trans)formations and (re)creations
- Training Workshop for Teachers and Educators “Passa Palavra! Living Lab
- Preventive Conservation Heritage Education
- Massive On-line Open Course (MOOC)
- A final exhibition of the work was developed in the schools.
The Viseu schools’ collaboration with the entities responsible for the heritage is sought.
